The hipsley cottage history...

Hipsley Cottage Old

What it began as...

In the beginning (1950's) Richard's father bought Hipsley Farm and cows were milked here. It was a small, mixed farm of a very traditional sort.

On the left is Brooke and Eliot as it was in the beginning (March '90).

To how it is now...

By 1988, the cowshed was no longer in use, and instead was a storeroom for vintage tractors. These traditional farming vehicles were eventually moved elsewhere, leaving the barns unused. By the 1990s Richard and Ann decided to make good use of the empty barns and used initiative combined with hard work and effort to convert the barns to the cottages seen today.
